Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Russia is preparing for a new spring offensive. According to him, Moscow is concentrating its forces on an attack, particularly targeting the Sumy and Kharkiv regions.

The President made this statement in an interview with the French publication Le Figaro.

Zelenskyy said that Vladimir Putin is simply trying to buy time, adding that Ukraine is aware of preparations for this operation and is sharing intelligence with its allies.

“I can also confirm that Putin is trying to buy time and is preparing for a spring offensive. We see the preparations for this upcoming operation. We’ve shared intelligence with our allies. We must look at the situation with our eyes wide open. Putin is planning a new offensive, particularly in the Sumy and Kharkiv regions,” Zelenskyy said.

The President noted that Russia had intended to launch this offensive eight months ago, but Ukrainian forces thwarted these plans with the Kursk operation. This is why the Kremlin is now trying to buy time by regrouping its forces and intensifying pressure on the frontlines.

Military analyst Michael Clarke told Sky News reported on March 26 that Russia has violated 190 agreements over the years.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed that a 30-day ceasefire in the Black Sea and a mutual ban on strikes against energy infrastructure took effect on March 25, following negotiations involving Ukraine, the US, and Russia in Saudi Arabia.

According to a statement released by the Kremlin on March 25 following negotiations in Riyadh, Russia has agreed to a Black Sea ceasefire under the condition that sanctions are lifted from the Russian Agricultural Bank and domestic producers of food and fertilizers.
