The advance allowed Ukrainian units—primarily Air Assault Forces formations and supporting elements—to restore control over a significant stretch of territory in the sector.
The operation has been ongoing since January 29 and has resulted in substantial losses for Russian forces.
Ukrainian military officials reported that Russian casualties in the area include 3,676 personnel, of whom 2,653 were killed, 1,023 wounded, and 11 captured.

Equipment losses have also been notable. According to the Air Assault Forces, Ukrainian troops destroyed or damaged:
8 tanks;
13 armored fighting vehicles;
250 artillery systems;
141 military vehicles;
153 motorcycles and quad bikes.
Ukrainian forces also targeted Russian drone capabilities, eliminating 1,283 fixed-wing drones and 140 UAV control points.
Earlier, Ukrainian assault units from the Skala regiment cleared the village of Minkivka, a key position along the Bakhmut–Sloviansk route, in an operation aimed at stabilizing the frontline and disrupting Russian offensive plans.
The assault allowed Ukrainian forces not only to regain control of the settlement but also to halt further Russian attempts to advance deeper into Ukrainian defensive lines.
