Russian forces are moving rare ZVM-2411 “Uzola” tracked amphibious snow-and-swamp vehicles to the front lines in Ukraine, according to Militarnyi article published on August 14.

A photograph showing one such vehicle being transported on a military trailer along Russian roads was captured by a Russian social media influencer.

The vehicle’s body, taken from the UAZ-2206 or later versions—commonly nicknamed “Bukhanka” in Russia—often leads to it being mistaken for improvised conversions based on Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant products.

The Uzola, manufactured by the Zavod Vezdekhodnykh Mashin (ZVM), is a light-class amphibious tracked snow-and-swamp vehicle designed for use in difficult terrain, from deep snow to marshes. It is available in three configurations.

It has a payload capacity of up to 700 kg, a maximum permissible weight of 4 tons, ground clearance of 400 mm and reaches speeds of up to 50 km/h on land and 4–5 km/h in water.

Earlier it was reported that Russian forces have deployed a heavily modified van, nicknamed the “hedgehog van,” to the front lines in Ukraine.

The vehicle is covered with outward-facing metal spikes intended to deter drone attacks, reflecting an improvised field adaptation amid continued aerial threats.
