Russia Strikes Kharkiv and Region With Guided Bombs, Injuring 13 People
On October 2, around 11:00 p.m. local time, Russian forces launched an attack on Kharkiv and its outskirts from Russia’s Belgorod region, injuring 13 people, The Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported.
The attack was carried out by two Su-34 aircraft, which launched five KAB guided bombs. Preliminary information suggests these were UMPB D-30SN bombs.
Two of the bombs hit the outskirts, specifically in the Derhachi community, while three struck inside Kharkiv. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, two bombs landed in an open area. In the Saltivskyi district, one bomb hit a five-story residential building, according to the prosecutor's office.
"In the Saltivskyi district, the bomb struck between the third and fourth floors of the residential building, causing a fire. Twelve people were injured, including a 3-year-old girl. Nearby buildings, a clinic, and at least 14 vehicles were damaged. In the Shevchenkivskyi district, the bombs hit a wooded area, shattering windows in two apartment buildings. In the village of Zolochiv, Bohodukhiv district, airstrikes damaged at least 10 residential houses and farm buildings. A 69-year-old woman suffered from acute stress," the statement added.
Prosecutors and police investigators are on-site to document these war crimes, the prosecutor's office said.
