Russian forces shelled a residential neighborhood in the Korabelnyi district of Kherson at around 10:50 am, killing four civilians and injuring seven others, according to Kherson Regional Military Administration head Oleksandr Prokudin on April 7.

According to Prokudin, two women aged 72 and 71 and a 60-year-old man suffered fatal injuries at the scene.

Another man was also killed, though his identity is still being established.

Three wounded civilians were initially taken to the hospital, including a woman aged 71 and 57 and a 72-year-old man. All are receiving medical treatment, Prokudin said.

Authorities later reported additional casualties. A 60-year-old man sustained a traumatic amputation of a toe, along with a concussion, blast injuries, and a closed head injury.

Another victim, an 81-year-old man, was hospitalized with shrapnel wounds to the face, as well as a concussion, blast trauma, and a closed traumatic brain injury, according to regional officials.

This is not the first Russian attack on civilians in Ukraine today. Earlier, a Russian FPV drone struck a city bus in central Nikopol, killing four people and injuring 16 others, according to Oleksandr Hanzha, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration.

Hanzha said the drone hit the bus as it was approaching a stop, with civilians both inside the vehicle and waiting nearby.

“This was not a random strike. This was deliberate terror against civilians. Against people who were simply going about their daily lives,” he said.
