Russian Drone Attack on Nikopol Bus Kills Four Civilians, Injures 16

On April 7, Russian FPV drone struck a city bus in central Nikopol, killing four people and injuring 16 others, according to Oleksandr Hanzha, Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration
Hanzha said the drone hit the bus as it was approaching a stop, with civilians both inside the vehicle and waiting nearby.

“This was not a random strike. This was deliberate terror against civilians. Against people who were simply going about their daily lives,” he said.
Earlier reports indicated three fatalities and 12 injured, but updated figures confirmed the death toll had risen to four, with 16 people wounded. Eight of the injured were hospitalized.
Among those in critical condition are men aged 58, 63, and 73. The remaining hospitalized victims are in moderate condition, suffering from blast injuries, concussions, shrapnel wounds, and fractures. Medical teams are providing all necessary care.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that seven of the injured remain in hospital, while nine received treatment at the scene.
“Russians continue their deliberate terror against people in Nikopol and other cities and communities near the front line. Recently, there was a cynical strike on the Nikopol market that took the lives of five people, and another 28 were injured.”
“It is important that a significant number of drones are still being shot down. But when such terror against people and life happens every day, blocking new sanctions against Russia, attempts to weaken sanctions and trade with Russia look absurd,” Zelenskyy added.
“This must not happen here in Europe or anywhere in the world. When people are simply killed in the streets of cities, it is a threat to everyone. Killers always try to go further. They must be stopped immediately, decisively, and this can only be done together—by coordinating and strengthening each other in the defense of life. Thank you to everyone who helps Ukraine.”
Just a day earlier, Russian forces launched multiple strikes on Nikopol and nearby areas in Ukraine’s Dnipropetrovsk region injuring nine people, including two minors, according to local authorities and prosecutors.
Oleksandr Hanzha, reported that the initial attack involved FPV drones, which wounded four women.
Two of the victims—a 62-year-old in serious condition and a 33-year-old in moderate condition—were hospitalized, while women aged 39 and 49 are receiving outpatient treatment. The strikes damaged a multi-story residential building and a pharmacy, and destroyed a vehicle.
