Russian Attack on Dobropillya Crushed as Ukraine Wipes Out Nine Tanks and IFVs

The Russian military launched a mechanized attack on Dobropillya in the Donetsk region, aiming to capture the settlement of Shakhove, but was met with complete failure, the First Military Corps of the Azov National Guard reported on October 16.
Russia deployed 22 units of armored vehicles, including tanks and infantry fighting vehicles, from the Malynivka area.
Even though the Russians had previously attempted to conceal their movements by setting up observation posts to detect and destroy Ukrainian drones, Azov writes, their strategy failed.
Prior to the attack, two armored vehicles were detected and destroyed by Ukrainian artillery and FPV drones before they could hide in the forest.

Despite the enemy’s preparations and attempts to alter tactics, the Ukrainian Defense Forces—using effective mining, engineering fortifications, and coordinated actions by artillery and drone units—successfully thwarted the assault, Azov stated.
As a result, 9 Russian armored vehicles were destroyed, and 4 more were damaged.
Previously, it was reported that Russian soldiers are complaining that their commanders are sending them on so-called “meat assaults” near Pokrovsk, according to a video published by Ukraine’s Air Assault Forces.
