A Russian ballistic missile struck a checkpoint near Ukrainian city of Chernihiv, killing two and injuring three, according to the head of Chernihiv Military Administration, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi on September 4.

Bryzhynskyi reported explosions within the city, saying the missile hit a local enterprise.

At 7:21 p.m., Chernihiv regional governor Vyacheslav Chaus reported the number of injured had risen to five.

Updated information confirmed the strike occurred at a checkpoint on the outskirts of Novoselivka.

The victims were part of a humanitarian demining mission conducting clearance operations.

Previously, it was reported that the Russian army launched a massive overnight drone strike on Bila Tserkva in Ukraine’s Kyiv region, killing at least one person and leaving widespread destruction, according to Kyiv region governor Mykola Kalashnyk.
