A Russian attack drone struck a private home in the city of Bohodukhiv in Ukraine’s Kharkiv region, killing three young children and their father, regional governor Oleh Syniehubov, and Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported on February 11.

According to investigators, the strike occurred at approximately 11:30 p.m. on February 10, when a Russian unmanned aerial vehicle—preliminarily identified as a Geran-2 —hit the residence where a family of five had been living.

The attack killed a 34-year-old man and three small children: two one-year-old boys and a two-year-old girl. A 74-year-old woman was also injured.

Emergency crews managed to rescue the children’s 35-year-old pregnant mother, who sustained blast injuries, a traumatic brain injury, and burns. Officials said the family had evacuated to Bohodukhiv from the nearby town of Zolochiv just days before the strike.

Rescue workers, medical personnel, and law enforcement officers continue to operate at the scene as emergency response efforts and documentation of the attack’s последствия remain underway.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy commented on the Russian attack.

“Each such Russian strike undermines trust in everything being done diplomatically to end this war and, time and again, proves that only strong pressure on Russia and clear security guarantees for Ukraine are the real key to stopping the killings. As long as pressure on the aggressor is insufficient and as long as security for us – for Ukraine – is not guaranteed, nothing else works,” he wrote.

Earlier, Russian forces carried out an airstrike on the city of Sloviansk in Ukraine’s Donetsk region, killing two civilians, including an 11-year-old girl and her mother.
