The cyberattacks impacted a Northwest Missouri Regional Airport, drinking water and storage facilities in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Indiana, and a meat packing plant in California.

One attack caused 200,000 gallons of water to overflow in Texas, while another resulted in the spoilage of 2,000 pounds of meat. The indictment sheds light on the growing threat of Russian cyberattacks on US infrastructure.

Previously, The US Justice Department announced additional federal charges against Ukrainian national Victoria Eduardovna Dubranova, 33, for her involvement in cyberattacks targeting critical US infrastructure in support of Russian interests, Reuters reported.

Dubranova, who was extradited to the US earlier this year, faces charges related to her alleged support of the hacking group NoName057(16), which has been linked to numerous global cyberattacks.

She is accused of conspiring to damage protected computers and is set to stand trial in February 2026 for her involvement with NoName057(16) and in April 2026 for charges tied to another group, CyberArmyofRussia_Reborn (CARR). Dubranova has pleaded not guilty in both cases, according to Reuters.
