Drones attacked the city of Murom in Russia’s Vladimir region, likely targeting the Murom Instrument-Making Plant, a facility known for producing gunpowder and other military-related equipment, overnight on April 30.
The drone strike was reported by the governor of Vladimir region, Alexander Avdeyev.
According to Avdeyev, a fire erupted at a warehouse following the drone attack. He also reported that several UAVs were detected within the city, but were successfully neutralized by electronic warfare systems.
Meanwhile, social media reports indicate the Murom Instrument-Making Plant was the specific target of the attack. The plant specializes in producing pyrotechnic devices, fire-fighting equipment, and capsule detonators.
Since 2023, it has been under sanctions from the European Union and Ukraine.
The Russian Ministry of Defense, in turn, claimed to have shot down 34 drones allegedly launched by Ukraine. Official sources in Kyiv have not commented on the events.
UPD: A source in the intelligence services told Ukrainska Pravda that the Murov Instrument Manufacturing Plant was struck by UAVs from the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) on the night of April 30.
Previously on April 28, drones struck the “Kremniy-EL” microelectronics plant in Bryansk, Russia, according to multiple sources, including Russian regional authorities and Ukrainian officials.
