Drones struck the “Kremniy-EL” microelectronics plant in Bryansk, Russia, overnight on April 28, according to multiple sources, including Russian regional authorities and Ukrainian officials.

Russian Telegram channels, including Shot and Astra, reported that between 10 and 15 explosions occurred near the “Kremniy-EL” facility.

The plant is one of Russia’s largest microelectronics manufacturers, producing components for a range of military applications, including missile systems such as the S-300, S-400, and Iskander, as well as air defense systems like Pantsir, radar installations, electronic warfare systems, drones, and avionics for combat aircraft.

The head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation, Andrii Kovalenko, confirmed that the “Kremniy” plant had been attacked, noting that this facility had been targeted multiple times in the past.

The facility, located approximately 110 kilometers from the Ukrainian border, reportedly sustained damage.

The plant supplies about 90 percent of its output to the Russian Ministry of Defense. Its microelectronics are reportedly used in critical military projects, including the development of radar systems with active electronically scanned arrays (AESA).

Earlier, on January 24, 2025, the Kremniy-EL plant in Bryansk suspended operations following a drone attack that damaged production facilities. No casualties were reported. The plant manufactures microelectronics for missile systems, air defense, radar, electronic warfare, and UAVs. The regional Investigative Committee building was also damaged during the attack.
