Russian S-400 Air Defense System Reportedly Targeted in Occupied Crimea
On November 29, a position of the S-400 "Triumf" air defense system in temporarily occupied Crimea was targeted, according to GEOINT specialists from CyberBoroshnо.
The location, near a field that was struck, had previously been the site of a stationary S-400 position, which had ceased to be used after frequent missile and drone strikes on Crimea.
However, the site and its surrounding area are situated at a high elevation, indicating that the air defense system may have been relocated there ton November 29 to take advantage of the strategic topography for launching fire, according to CyberBoroshnо.
The S-400 "Triumf" is designed to target air attack assets, including reconnaissance aircraft, strategic and tactical aircraft, ballistic missiles, hypersonic targets, and more.
Previously, it’s been reported that Ukrainian partisans discovered and leaked the new location of the S-400 Triumf air defense systems.
Russian servicemen in Crimea's air defense units have been reaching out to partisan movement Atesh, complaining about harsh conditions, when one of them inadvertently provided key information on the location of four S-400 systems and their missile storage depots in the Saky district, near Yevpatoria.
Previously on November 23, 2024, a precision strike carried out with 3 US-supplied ATACMS ballistic missiles destroyed a Russian S-400 air defense system in the village of Bolshoye Zhirovo, Kursk Region.
