Russian Soldier Kills Three Civilians in Kharkiv Region Shooting, Revealed in Intercepted Call

A Russian soldier opened fire inside an apartment building in the temporarily occupied Kharkiv region, killing three civilians.
The incident was revealed in an intercepted call published by Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence Directorate (HUR) on October 3.
According to the intercept, Russian troops discussed the episode, stating that a serviceman with the call sign “Ryzhiy” “opened fire throughout the entire entrance.” They noted that the soldier “lost control” before unleashing the deadly shooting spree.
“He opened fire across the whole entrance yesterday, across the whole entrance. He hit three people, three civilians,” the direct commander said in the recording.
HUR added that the perpetrator himself did not survive. Fellow soldiers admitted that “Ryzhiy” was killed by his own gunfire.
“One of mine is gone, and three civilians got caught in it,” another Russian serviceman confirmed, acknowledging the civilian deaths.

Separately, Ukraine’s Office of the Prosecutor General reported that a Russian soldier shot and killed a civilian attempting to evacuate from the village of Udachne in Donetsk region. The incident took place in Pokrovskyi district.
A video, published on a Telegram channel and referenced by prosecutors, shows the victim walking along the roadside with a suitcase when he was gunned down by a Russian soldier firing from a destroyed building.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian forces executed three Ukrainian prisoners of war near the village of Novopil in Donetsk region.
