Russian Strike Hits Zaporizhzhia Grocery Store, Wounding 6 Including Child

Russian forces struck the southeastern Ukrainian city of Zaporizhzhia on Sunday morning, wounding at least six people, including a child and an emergency worker, according to the official Telegram channel of Zaporizhzhia region governor Ivan Fedorov on December 14. 

Fedorov said the attack hit a store in a residential neighborhood, leaving the premises destroyed as emergency services and medics responded, and he urged residents to remain in safe places as strikes continued.

“At least six people were wounded as a result of the attack on Zaporizhzhia,” he wrote, adding that those injured were receiving medical assistance.

He later reported that cars were burning after strikes in another part of the city and said ambulances had been dispatched to multiple impact sites, while officials continued to assess the overall damage. 


Earlier, Russian drone attacks on the city of Zaporizhzhia injured at least 19 civilians and damaged over 50 residential buildings in a mass assault, with rescue and recovery operations underway across multiple impact sites.
