On the night of August 8-9, 2024, near the settlement of Chornomorske in temporarily occupied Crimea, Ukrainian special forces from the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) conducted a successful operation using the MAGURA V5 marine drone. The operation resulted in the destruction of a Russian high-speed boat of the K-701 “Tunets” project, which had been used by Russian occupiers for patrolling and logistics.

Additionally, the operation caused damage to three other enemy vessels, the types of which are currently being determined. This incident continues a series of attacks on Russian ships of this type: on May 2024, two “Tunets” boats were destroyed and another two were damaged.

The MAGURA V5, a state-of-the-art strike platform recognized by international experts as one of the most effective in the Russo-Ukrainian War, has been notably successful in targeting Russian vessels. To date, these Ukrainian-produced marine drones have targeted 18 enemy ships, of which 9 have been destroyed.
