NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said deliveries of American weapons and supplies to Ukraine financed by NATO member states would continue, following his meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as he wrote on his official X on September 25
“NATO support to Ukraine continues to flow—including crucial American weapons and supplies funded by #NATO Allies. We continue to work closely together to ensure Ukraine can defend itself while we work for an end to the war & a durable peace,” Rutte stated.
Public broadcaster Suspilne reported the statement, noting it followed Rutte’s discussion with Zelenskyy and his team, and linked the continuing deliveries to the Prioritised Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) mechanism agreed by the United States and NATO.
Zelenskyy said he and Rutte discussed “the effectiveness and further expansion of the PURL initiative,” which enables allies to finance US-made equipment for Ukraine. “Together with @SecGenNATO Mark Rutte, we discussed the effectiveness and further expansion of the PURL initiative,” the Ukrainian President posted.
According to Suspilne’s summary of current pledges, contributions for PURL stand at about $2.1 billion:
Sweden has pledged $275 million;
Norway approximately $135 million;
Netherlands financed an initial about $530 million;
Denmark roughly $83 million.
These figures reflect national announcements to date, with additional donors expected to join.
Earlier, it was reported that NATO confirmed four aid packages under the PURL program had been financed, with two already en route to Ukraine and initial shipments including Patriot and HIMARS munitions.
