Sabotage Operation Targets Railway Near Strategic Russian Missile Depot in Tver
Partisan movement Atesh carried out a sabotage operation targeting railway lines near missile and artillery depots in Russia’s Tver region, the group reported on January 2.
According to Atesh, the sabotaged railway segment is crucial for transporting ammunition from the 23rd and 107th arsenals of Russia’s Main Missile and Artillery Directorate to the frontline. These facilities are considered strategically significant to the Russian military infrastructure.
107th Arsenal, located in Toropets spans roughly 5 square kilometers and houses ballistic missiles such as Iskander and Tochka-U, large-caliber artillery shells, and ammunition for multiple launch rocket systems like Smerch and Grad.
23rd Arsenal, located South of Toropets is smaller in size, it stores significant stockpiles of tank and artillery shells, fragmentation mines, mortar ammunition, anti-tank missiles, and guided projectiles.
Atesh claimed that these arsenals provide a significant portion of the logistical support for Russian forces on the front lines. The sabotage disrupted vital supply routes, complicating the transportation of ammunition and undermining a critical component of Russia’s war effort.
Earlier, Ukraine’s Main Directorate of Intelligence (HUR) announced a series of operations targeting Russian military infrastructure both in temporarily occupied Ukrainian territories and on Russian territory on December 29. Among the key actions were the destruction of Russian communication equipment and damaging critical rail infrastructure.
