Sea drones attacked the Russian Black Sea port of Tuapse overnight, likely damaging one of the harbor’s piers, the head of Ukraine’s Center for Countering Disinformation Andrii Kovalenko confirmed on November 11.

Explosions were reported by locals late at night, while an air-raid and drone-attack alert remained in effect for nearly eight hours.

Serhiy Boyko, head of the Tuapse municipal district in Russia’s Krasnodar region, said the threat from uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) and aerial drones was lifted only around 7 am Kyiv time.

Boyko later edited his initial message, removing references to sea drones, though those details remained in a report issued by the Krasnodar Regional Operational Headquarters.

Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that seven drones were destroyed over the Black Sea.

“In the Black Sea near Tuapse, four uncrewed surface vessels were neutralized. One of the boats detonated near the shoreline. The blast wave damaged the windows of a two-story building, a garage, and a hangar. There were no casualties. Emergency services are working at the site,” the Krasnodar regional operations center said in a statement.

Kovalenko later confirmed the strike. “Something caught fire in the Tuapse port overnight,” the Ukrainian official remarked on social media.

The port of Tuapse, a major oil-handling facility on Russia’s southern coast, has been repeatedly targeted by long-range drones in recent months. It serves as a key logistical and energy hub for Russia’s Black Sea supply chain.

Earlier, a large fire broke out overnight at the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil refinery in southern Russia following a drone attack on the facility.
