Sweden is providing approximately €2.27 million (about $2.44 million) in support of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine. The funding will be used to implement a new digital case management system aimed at enhancing the efficiency of investigations, particularly into Russia’s war crimes.

The announcement was made by the Embassy of Sweden in Ukraine via social media platform X on June 18.

The Swedish diplomatic mission emphasized that Russia’s war crimes must not go unpunished, adding that this was not an empty slogan but a call to action.

The Embassy stated, “That is why yesterday we decided to increase our support for the Prosecutor General’s Office. Around €2.27 million will go toward a new digital case management system that will make investigations more effective.”

The funding forms part of the broader international effort to support Ukraine in holding perpetrators accountable for crimes committed during Russia’s full-scale aggression.

Earlier, Ukraine and Sweden agreed to deepen cooperation in the development of space technologies to support defense needs. During recent discussions, Ukrainian officials outlined the priority areas for the Defense Forces, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration to enhance technological capabilities.

Rather than focusing on expanding domestic hardware production, the partnership will prioritize the processing and analysis of large data sets—much of which originates from international sources—to strengthen Ukraine’s defense infrastructure.
