Swedish ScanJack Demining Machines Help Ukraine’s Engineers Clear 93 Hectares of Farmland in Kharkiv Region

Modern Swedish-made ScanJack 3500 demining machines are helping Ukraine’s 47th Separate Engineer Brigade restore safety to farmland in the Kharkiv region, the brigade reported on October 13, citing ArmyInform.
“These explosive devices differ in type, shape, and level of threat, but they all share one purpose—to destroy. And we have our purpose—to protect,” the brigade stated. “Each cleared hectare is another step toward victory, another chance for harvest, another story without tragedy.”
According to the unit, the ScanJack 3500 systems, operating in the brigade’s area of responsibility, have enabled the detection and neutralization of 629 explosive devices over the past month—ranging from anti-personnel mines to improvised explosive devices.
Each day, engineers find between 15 and 35 explosive objects, all of which pose a deadly threat to civilians and soldiers alike.
In total, 93 hectares of agricultural land have been cleared, allowing local farmers to sow winter wheat and other grains. The brigade said the machines process between 2 and 6 hectares daily, significantly accelerating the pace of land recovery.
Earlier, it was reported that more than 1 million explosive objects had been neutralized by Ukraine’s demining units since the full-scale invasion, improving safety for communities and agriculture.
