UK to Build New Ammunition and Drone Factories for Military Strength and Support to Ukraine

The United Kingdom is planning to establish new factories for the production of ammunition and explosives to strengthen the country's military readiness.
This initiative was announced by the UK Ministry of Defense in press release on November 19.
UK Defense Minister John Healey revealed on Wednesday that the government will invest around $1.86 billion in this project, which will create 1,000 new jobs.
According to the Ministry of Defense, at least 13 locations across the country will be allocated for the construction of these new facilities, with the first one expected to begin construction next year.
The initial factory will focus on producing materials for the UK Armed Forces and also support Ukraine. The facilities will manufacture explosives, rocket fuel, and ignition systems to be used in combat zones.

British defense companies have already been invited to submit proposals for the production of explosives.
In addition, two new drone production plants are expected to open in the southwest of England this week, as part of agreements aimed at boosting the defense sector, with a total investment of approximately $310 million.
Earlier, it was reported that the UK is closely tracking a Russian surveillance ship off the coast of Scotland, suspected of gathering intelligence on underwater infrastructure.
UK Defense Minister John Healey confirmed this development on November 19, stating that the Russian vessel, which is believed to be collecting data on the region’s underwater infrastructure, is currently operating near Scotland's coastline. British authorities are closely monitoring the situation.
