Ukraine Allocates $232 Million to Drones, Logistics After 22,700 Successful Strikes in July

Ukrainian Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal confirmed the approval of a budget reallocation totaling approximately $232 million to enhance unmanned aerial capabilities and fortify logistics infrastructure, in line with decisions by the Supreme Commander-in-Chief’s Staff. The announcement was made on August 2.
“We are increasing investment in Ukrainian drones and in strengthening the defense forces,” Shmyhal stated on his official Telegram channel. “Our goal is to provide even more drones and more modern weapons to our defenders.”
Out of the total, approximately $206 million will be directed to military units involved in the “Drone Line” program, including newly established formations. The funding will ensure immediate support for frontline drone units such as “Ptakhi Madyara,” K2, “Raroh,” “Akhilles,” “Nemesis,” and “Chornyi Lis,” which reportedly destroyed 22,700 Russian targets in July alone.
An additional approximately $25.8 million is earmarked for anti-drone defense systems to safeguard evacuation and logistics routes, which remain high-priority targets in ongoing Russian attacks.
Earlier, it was reported that Germany has agreed to fund Ukrainian long‑range “deep‑strike” drone systems worth hundreds of millions of euros, enabling delivery of advanced Peklo and Palianytsia drones just weeks after funding was secured
