The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine (HUR), in coordination with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has successfully evacuated 31 Ukrainian citizens from Iran, the Defense Intelligence reported on June 24.
Among those evacuated were 5 men, 12 women, and 14 children. The evacuation was carried out via Azerbaijan and Moldova. The evacuees are currently on their way to Kyiv.

This marks the final stage of a coordinated interagency operation by HUR and Foreign Ministry to rescue Ukrainian citizens from high-risk areas in Israel and Iran.
One evacuee, Varvara from Kyiv region, shared her experience in Tehran:
"All the time in Tehran we felt completely unprotected. There were no warning sirens at all. Then the internet went out, and we had no idea what was happening. I know there’s a war in Ukraine too, but our country doesn’t abandon its people."

Another evacuee, Nataliya, described the fear she experienced during the escalation, saying it felt even more terrifying than what she had faced in Ukraine. She explained that once they were informed of an opportunity to evacuate, they traveled north, where Ukrainians from various cities across Iran had begun to gather.
Earlier, Poland launched an evacuation operation for civilians amid rising tensions in the Middle East, with Ukrainian nationals among those assisted.
The first evacuation flight, carrying 160 passengers—primarily Polish citizens, along with several Ukrainians and other foreign nationals—landed in Warsaw after departing from Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
