Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry has launched round-the-clock monitoring and evacuation planning for citizens in Israel and Iran, following the rapid deterioration of the security situation in the Middle East. The response was initiated on the instruction of Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, the ministry confirmed on June 18.

Ukrainian diplomats in Israel have already facilitated the evacuation of several citizens in urgent need of assistance.

As of the morning of June 18, the Embassy of Ukraine in Israel received over 400 requests via its emergency hotline. Consular staff are providing citizens with guidance on possible evacuation routes and compiling an evacuation list. Detailed instructions are available on official embassy platforms.

According to the Foreign Ministry, 293 Ukrainian nationals have confirmed their intention to leave Israel with consular support. In Iran, 85 Ukrainian citizens and 10 foreign nationals holding permanent residency in Ukraine have requested evacuation.

The Consular Service Department, together with Ukraine’s embassies in Israel and Iran, is coordinating several evacuation options—including chartered flights and joint efforts with international partners. Work is also underway to verify the identities of those seeking evacuation and resolve logistical arrangements.

Ukraine’s diplomatic missions in the region continue to operate under heightened readiness, providing consular assistance and monitoring developments on the ground.

Earlier, Poland launched civilian evacuation efforts from Israel amid rising tensions in the Middle East, with Ukrainian nationals among those assisted.

The first evacuation flight, carrying 160 individuals—primarily Polish citizens, as well as several Ukrainians and other foreign nationals—arrived in Warsaw from Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
