Ukraine’s Armed Forces have introduced their first mobile drone repair workshops, marking a significant development in battlefield maintenance capabilities, the Ministry of Defense announced on May 14.
The domestically produced “Nebokray” mobile workshops have successfully passed the necessary codification and are now operational in field conditions.
Designed specifically for the repair and maintenance of copter-type UAVs, these workshops enable on-site servicing, reducing downtime and enhancing operational readiness.
The Ministry of Defense described the Nebokray tactical mobile workshop as capable of performing a wide range of repair, maintenance, and assembly tasks for drone systems.
Each workshop is housed within a metal container mounted on a two-axle trailer, equipped with autonomous heating, lighting, air conditioning, and ventilation systems. Inside, there are dedicated workspaces for technicians, complete with shelving and storage containers for tools and parts.

The basic “Nebokray 00” model is outfitted with essential tools, while the fully equipped “Nebokray 01” version includes an expanded array of specialized equipment.
This comprehensive toolkit features a charging station, compressor, pulsed laboratory power supply, welding machine, soldering station, tin extractor, ultrasonic bath with liquid degassing capability, 3D printer, filament dryer, personal computer, wireless barcode scanners, grinding and engraving machines, FPV monitor, and RF signal power meter.
Weighing between 1.5 and 2.5 tons, the Nebokray workshops are transportable by any military tactical passenger vehicle, ensuring rapid deployment and mobility on the frontlines.
The Ministry of Defense initially announced plans for the mobile drone repair workshops at the end of 2024, emphasizing their role in improving drone maintenance during combat operations.
Earlier, rare footage surfaced showing massive night launches of Chaklun-V long-range strike UAVs by Ukraine’s 14th Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Brigade.
