The Gimli Unmanned Ground Vehicle is a versatile autonomous platform designed to perform a wide range of tasks in high-intensity combat conditions. Depending on its configuration and mounted equipment, the Gimli robots can be used for:

  • Evacuation and transportation of personnel;

  • Ammunition and supply delivery;

  • Logistics and support operations;

  • Combat missions when equipped with weapons.

When armed, Gimli functions as a mobile combat module, capable of delivering fire support and engaging enemy targets.

According to the Ukrainian Defense Ministry, the robotic system is compact and easily transportable, featuring a silent electric motor that allows it to operate stealthily. Its battery provides several hours of continuous use, and it is capable of functioning both day and night.

Previously, it was reported that Ukraine has become the first country in the world to use 1,000-pound (454 kg) Mark 83 bombs modified with JDAM-ER (Joint Direct Attack Munition-Extended Range) kits.
