In a statement released on March 16, the General Staff said Ukrainian forces conducted strikes “on enemy air defense systems and command posts as part of efforts to reduce the offensive capabilities of the Russian aggressor.”
According to the General Staff, Ukrainian units hit a Tor-M1 short-range surface-to-air missile system near the settlement of Korobkyne in the occupied part of Luhansk region. Another Tor air defense system was struck near Balashivka in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region.
The General Staff also reported damage to a radar station belonging to the S-300 air defense system near the settlement of Chervone in the occupied Donetsk region.

In addition to air defense systems, Ukrainian forces targeted Russian command infrastructure. According to the General Staff, command and observation posts were struck near Stepne in the occupied Donetsk region and Bahate in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region.
“The scale of damage and enemy losses is being clarified. Combat operations continue,” the General Staff said.
Russian Tor systems are short-range mobile air defense platforms designed to intercept aircraft, cruise missiles, guided bombs, and drones at low and medium altitudes. The S-300 radar systems play a key role in long-range air defense by detecting and tracking aerial targets and guiding interceptor missiles.
Earlier, Ukraine’s military intelligence struck Russia’s maritime logistics in the Kerch Strait, disabling the railway ferry “Slavyanin” and damaging the vessel “Avangard.” Both ships were used by Russia to transport weapons, equipment, and ammunition between mainland Russia and occupied Crimea as part of its military supply network.
