Ukraine Eliminates Entire Russian Sabotage Team Plotting Fake “Victory” Video Near Dobropillia

Ukrainian defense units have conducted a counter-sabotage operation on the outskirts of Dobropillia near Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region, stopping an attempted Russian infiltration before it reached the settlement.
According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on December 4, the village remains fully under Ukrainian control despite Russian claims circulating online.
The military released video footage showing servicemembers of the 33rd Separate Assault Regiment conducting the operation.
According to the General Staff, the unit identified the movement of a Russian sabotage-reconnaissance group that attempted to use low visibility and weather conditions to approach the settlement.
Ukrainian assault troops intercepted the group on the approaches to the village. The General Staff reported that the first phase of the engagement resulted in the elimination of three Russian servicemembers moving through tree lines toward the settlement.
The remaining members attempted to continue the advance but were neutralized during a follow-on clearing maneuver.
According to the military’s assessment, two of the final eliminated infiltrators were carrying materials intended to produce staged video footage with Russian flags for subsequent information campaigns.

The General Staff stated that the entire group was neutralized and Ukrainian positions were not compromised. Dobropillia remains under Ukrainian control, with no changes to the frontline in this sector.
Following the operation, Russian state-linked channels circulated claims alleging the “capture” of Dobropillia. Ukrainian defense officials dismissed those statements as false and underscored that all such reports contradict verified operational data.
Earlier, on October 25, Russian forces attempted a river crossing near Volodymyrivka in the Donetsk region but suffered significant losses when multiple armored vehicles became stuck and were destroyed by Ukrainian artillery, HIMARS, and drone strikes, according to the 33rd Mechanized Brigade.
