Ukraine Frees Pankivka in Pokrovsk District, Russia Deploys Four Brigades to Counter

Ukrainian forces have liberated the village of Pankivka and the surrounding areas in the Dobropillia sector, according to the Azov Corps of the National Guard on September 15.
The unit confirmed that coordinated operations by Ukraine’s Defense Forces and National Guard troops successfully cleared Russian forces from Pankivka in the Pokrovsk district.

“Units of Ukraine’s Armed Forces operating in the Azov Corps’ area of responsibility continue to liberate territory in the Dobropillia direction. As a result of joint action between the Armed Forces and the National Guard, the settlement of Pankivka and adjacent areas have been cleared of the enemy,” the statement read.
At the same time, the Russian command is attempting to reinforce its positions in the region. According to Azov, Moscow has redeployed significant reserves to the sector, including four infantry brigades and one marine regiment.

“The enemy continues to build up its forces. In order to strengthen offensive potential, Russia’s command has transferred additional reserves—four infantry brigades and a marine regiment—into the Azov Corps’ area of responsibility. Ukraine’s Armed Forces are making every effort to halt enemy advances and prevent a breakthrough in our defenses,” the unit reported.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised the Armed Forces for halting Russia’s offensive in the Sumy region and making fresh gains along the border.
