Russian bombers are dropping guided aerial bombs on Russia’s own Belgorod region. Eight such bombs have fallen there in recent days.

Main Directorate of Intelligence of Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense (HUR), published a new intercepted call in which a resident of the border area describes fires at local infrastructure sites and admits that some of the strikes were caused by Russia’s own aircraft.

“Over 11 days, Russian bombers dropped eight bombs—eight bombs—on the territory of Belgorod region. Can you imagine?” the woman says in the recording.

According to HUR, Russian aircraft continue launching glide bombs with planning and correction modules toward Ukraine. Due to the poor technical reliability of these munitions, a number of them fail to stay on course and end up hitting Russian border settlements instead.

Ukrainian military intelligence also published another intercepted call illustrating the scale of Russian battlefield losses. In the recording, a woman recounts how her relative, identified as Dima, was one of only two soldiers who survived a Russian assault operation.

According to the HUR, which obtained the call on September 15, the woman explains that Dima’s unit originally included 25 servicemen. “Only two came back,” she said, describing how the rest of the group had been wiped out during the attack.

HUR noted that this is another example of Russia’s continued use of so-called “meat assaults,” in which troops are pushed into frontal attacks with minimal support and minimal chance of survival. The agency said such losses remain routine across the front line.

Earlier, HUR said its forces have carried out another series of successful operations against Russian military sites in occupied Crimea.

The agency reported that its special unit “Ghosts” conducted strikes that eliminated multiple key air-defense systems and radar installations used by Russian forces.
