Ukraine Faces Potential Delay in Weapons Shipments Amid US Government Shutdown

Ukraine warned that the US government shutdown could delay weapons deliveries and stall a potential drone-technology deal after federal employees were furloughed, The Telegraph reported on October 2.
Talks with a Ukrainian delegation in Washington were paused, leaving planned discussions on high-tech support and Tomahawk cruise missile deliveries in limbo, a Ukrainian official told The Telegraph.
The prospective drone agreement, backed by US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, could be worth billions and mark a massive development in US-Ukraine security cooperation.

Ukrainian officials also highlighted that the pause affects planning for future weapons shipments and diplomatic engagement, The Telegraph wrote.
Yuriy Boyechko, CEO of Hope for Ukraine, said the shutdown sends a “very bad signal” at a time when constant military support is vital to repel Russian assaults and maintain Ukrainian and European security.
Previously, it was reported that the US special representative to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg, said that President Donald Trump has authorized Ukraine to carry out long-range strikes inside Russian territory—though Kellogg added that the Pentagon has, at times, withheld approval for specific missions.
