According to the Special Operations Forces of Ukraine, units from the “Middle-strike” component carried out coordinated attacks on multiple high-value targets across occupied territories.

In an official statement released on social media, the SSO reported that a command post controlling Russian missile systems and a mobile fire group were hit in the area of Verkhniokurhanne in Crimea.

In the settlement of Shkilne, a drone strike targeted a concealed element of Russia’s S-400 air defense system. Another strike hit an ammunition depot belonging to Russia’s 58th Combined Arms Army near the town of Terpinnia in the Zaporizhzhia region.

The SSO published video footage showing the strikes, indicating the use of unmanned aerial systems for precision targeting of both command and air defense infrastructure.

According to the SSO statement, these operations are part of a broader campaign aimed at degrading Russia’s layered air defense network in occupied territories. The command emphasized that such strikes are designed to reduce Moscow’s ability to control airspace and protect its forces.

“Middle-strike strikes are carried out against enemy targets in the occupied territory of Ukraine,” the statement reads. “Consistent destruction of the enemy’s layered air defense system significantly reduces its ability to control the airspace and cover its own forces. The SSO continue asymmetric actions to strategically exhaust the enemy in waging war against Ukraine.”

These strikes align with a broader pattern of Ukrainian operations targeting Russian air defenses, logistics, and command infrastructure. According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Ukrainian units on March 16 and overnight into March 17 also struck a Tor-M2U air defense system in Russia’s Bryansk region, missile brigade positions in occupied Crimea, and multiple fuel and ammunition depots in the Zaporizhzhia region.
