Ukraine Hits S-400 System, Russian Military Train, and Ammo Plant in Temporarily Occupied Territories

Armed Forces of Ukraine struck the Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works, a Russian military train, and a launcher from an S-400 Triumph air defense system, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on March 30.
“The Defense Forces of Ukraine continue to methodically degrade the aggressor’s combat capabilities and destroy its military infrastructure,” the General Staff stated.

The General Staff reported that a high-value launcher from an S-400 system was hit near the settlement of Hvardiiske in temporarily occupied Crimea.
It also confirmed a strike on the Alchevsk Iron and Steel Works in temporarily occupied Luhansk region, describing the plant as involved in the production of large-caliber ammunition for Russian forces.
A large fire was recorded on the grounds of the Alchevsk plant, the statement noted. The General Staff also reported hits on a Russian military train near the settlement of Novosvitlivka in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region on March 29.

Ukrainian forces also struck command posts and troop concentration areas, including a drone control point near Huliaipole in Zaporizhzhia region and a Russian manpower concentration area near Nova Tavolzhanka in Russia’s Belgorod region.
Further Russian troop concentrations were hit near Berezove in the Dnipropetrovsk region, Basivka in the Sumy region, and Huliaipole in the Zaporizhzhia region, the General Staff stated.
It added that casualty figures and the scale of the damage are still being clarified, while available photos and videos from objective control confirm the accuracy of the strikes.

The reported strikes form part of Ukraine’s broader campaign to target Russian military logistics, air defense assets, command infrastructure, and industrial facilities supporting the war effort.
Kyiv has increasingly focused on degrading rear-area capabilities used to sustain Russian operations along the front—another strike hit the Alchevsk Metallurgical Plant in the temporarily occupied Luhansk region overnight, with multiple drones reportedly reaching the site and igniting fires at a facility tied to Russia’s military supply chain.
Local monitoring channels cited at least four impacts across the plant, while occupation authorities confirmed the attack but described the target as a civilian enterprise and reported no injuries.
Ukrainian military officials had previously identified the complex as a site used to produce artillery shell casings for Russian forces.
