According to HUR on April 20, fighters from the “Prymary” unit struck two Russian Black Sea Fleet landing ships—the Project 775 Yamal and the Project 1171 Nikolai Filchenkov—on the night of April 19. The agency said both vessels were located in Sevastopol Bay at the time of the attack and were subsequently taken out of service.
HUR stated that the operation also resulted in the destruction of a Russian “Podlet-K1” radar system in Sevastopol.
The Project 775 Yamal, commissioned in 1988, is approximately 112.5 meters long and designed to transport up to 500 tons of cargo, including armored vehicles and troops. Its estimated value exceeds $80 million.
The Project 1171 Nikolai Filchenkov, built in 1975, has a cargo capacity of up to 1,000 tons, enabling it to carry dozens of armored vehicles and a large amphibious force. HUR estimates its value at over $70 million. The destroyed “Podlet-K1” radar system is valued at approximately $5 million.

According to HUR, both ships were actively used by Russia in its war against Ukraine prior to being disabled.
Earlier, on April 6, Ukrainian naval forces, in coordination with the Unmanned Systems Forces, struck Russian positions on the offshore gas platform “Syvash” in the Black Sea, according to the Ukrainian Navy.
The installation had been repurposed by Russian forces into a surveillance and communications hub equipped with electronic warfare and air defense systems. Ukrainian officials said the strike targeted personnel, equipment, and infrastructure used to monitor movements toward occupied Crimea, aiming to reduce Russia’s ability to control and track activity in the region.
