Ukraine Launches DOT-Chain: Digital Weapons Marketplace for Frontline Troops

Ukraine will launch of DOT-Chain Defence — a new digital system designed to speed up and simplify the delivery of weapons to frontline units. Ten brigades of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will take part in the pilot phase, according to the Ministry of Defense on July 7.
DOT-Chain Defence is essentially a digital weapons marketplace, created to ensure faster and more flexible supply for Ukraine’s Defense Forces. The Ministry of Defense has allocated $24.5 million to the Defense Procurement Agency to support the launch. Ukrainian Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov emphasized that through the system, brigades will be able to order FPV drones — with additional UAVs, electronic warfare tools, and robotic systems to be added soon.
“Each military unit will be able to select exactly what it needs to accomplish its missions. At the same time, the Defense Procurement Agency will handle financing and delivery without unnecessary bureaucracy. Delivery will now take weeks instead of months,” Umerov stated.

The minister also explained how DOT-Chain Defense functions in practice. Military units can independently select, order, and reserve the equipment they need, track delivery timelines, leave feedback, and receive rapid responses.
Manufacturers gain a clear and direct mechanism for working with both the military and the government, while also receiving real-time feedback from frontline units.
According to Umerov, the state will recognize the real needs of the front, makes data-driven decisions, supports the development of the defense industry, and promotes the implementation of innovations.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine is set to launch an International Information and Innovation Training Hub for Humanitarian Demining to enhance global awareness of the dangers posed by landmines and other explosive remnants of war.
