Ukraine Launches New Unit of Strike-Capable Robotic Ground Systems With Third Assault Brigade

The Third Assault Brigade of Ukraine’s Third Army Corps has established a company of ground-based robotic systems, the corps announced on its official channels on September 2.
The new unit, named NC13, has already deployed robotic platforms in combat operations, including assaults, mine-laying, and even the capture of Russian prisoners.
In a statement, the corps said the unit combines frontline experience with modern technologies to better protect Ukrainian soldiers.
“This is the new reality of war, in which we set the rules. Robots fight, and you are in control,” the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade stated.
In a widely reported July operation in the Kharkiv region, troops from the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade conducted a historic mission in which Russian forces surrendered for the first time to unmanned ground vehicles—without any infantry involvement and with no casualties on the Ukrainian side.

In June, the 3rd Separate Assault Brigade launched a training school for operators of ground robotic systems, expanding from its earlier program, which has been preparing FPV drone pilots and engineers since April 2024.
Both civilians and active-duty personnel can take part in the courses. Training is free for service members, while civilians may enroll for a fee.
Previously, it was reported that the delivery of drones to Ukrainian troops through the DOT-Chain Defense system has been completed four times faster than via standard procurement procedures, with some orders fulfilled in less than two weeks.
