Ukraine’s Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal said that the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already completed the main mobilization objectives by recruiting enough personnel to cover battlefield losses and create reserves, Hromadske reported on September 11.

“We have recruited the necessary number of people to cover losses and form reserves. Therefore, the mobilization has fulfilled its main task,” Shmyhal stated.

He underlined that this achievement means there is no immediate need for additional mass mobilization campaigns.

According to Shmyhal, the government and military command are now focused on ensuring the effective training, equipment, and combat readiness of the newly mobilized soldiers. “The key task today is not just to bring people into the ranks but to properly prepare and arm them, so that units entering combat are fully capable of fulfilling their missions,” he said.

The Defense Minister noted that Ukraine is coordinating closely with international partners to supply the necessary weapons, ammunition, and protective gear.

He added that planning is shifting toward long-term sustainability of the defense effort, which requires balancing mobilization with adequate rest, rotation, and support for troops on the front line.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukrainian forces regained about 58 km² of territory in August 2025 through active defense and counterattacks.
