Russian families have submitted inquiries about over 50,000 missing soldiers through the ‘I Want to Find’  initiative, a number that could be significantly higher, according to Bohdan Okhrimenko, head of the Coordination Headquarters Secretariat in an interview with ArmyInform on January 3.

Okhrimenko explained that the ‘I Want to Find’ project was launched as a separate initiative after initially operating under the ‘I Want to Live’  hotline.

“Today, we can confirm that we have received over 50,000 inquiries from Russians searching for missing loved ones. And that’s just from those who aren’t afraid to contact us,” Okhrimenko said.

He added that a recent closed-door session in Russia’s State Duma reported 48,000 missing Russian soldiers.

“By our estimates, the total number of missing Russian soldiers exceeds 100,000. This doesn’t include those we already know to be dead. Many of the missing are scattered across Ukrainian fields, with their remains left uncollected, often spread by wild animals. Russia shows no interest in identifying them,” he added.

Earlier, Volunteers from the Goryushko project documented the deaths of over 90,000 Russian servicemen involved in the war against Ukraine.
