Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico reported what he described as a "cyberattack" targeting the country’s national insurance company. Speaking at an urgent press conference on January 24, Fico claimed the incident aimed to access "confidential information about diagnoses" and warned it could have disrupted medical services in Slovakia.

"We are successfully defending against the attack, but the situation remains unpredictable," Fico stated. He suggested the incident was part of broader activities aimed at undermining governments with differing views and pointed to Ukraine as potentially involved.

Fico also mentioned that the activity might involve coordination by "opposition groups, non-governmental organizations, foreign states, instructors, and the media."

Ukraine’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs rejected the allegations.

"We categorically reject any insinuations about Ukraine's involvement in the cyberattack against the medical insurance company in Slovakia. Once again, we urge Fico to stop looking for imaginary enemies in Ukraine, which remains a friendly country to Slovakia and the Slovak people," the ministry said in a statement.

Recently, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico criticized the visit of opposition deputies to Kyiv, calling it a “gesture of subservience” and warning against supporting Ukraine.
