Ukraine and Russia may hold a new round of negotiations in Istanbul later this week. This would mark the third round of talks between the two countries in Türkiye following earlier meetings on May 16 and June 2, according to Suspilne report published on July 21.

Sources note that preliminary consultations are already underway regarding the composition of delegations and the negotiation agenda.

The venue is expected to remain the same—an official government residence in Istanbul previously used for direct talks.

While Kyiv has not officially confirmed the date, the sources indicate that “the meeting could take place within days.”

The Kremlin has also not provided specific details. Russian leader’s spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Moscow “remains open to dialogue if Ukraine is ready to consider real conditions.”

A senior Ukrainian official, speaking to Suspilne on condition of anonymity, emphasized that while modalities are still being discussed, “there will be no compromise on sovereignty and territorial integrity”.

Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine has proposed a new round of peace talks with Russia in Istanbul, citing President Zelenskyy’s renewed call for negotiations aimed at prisoner exchanges, the return of deported children, and a cessation of hostilities.
