Ukraine Secures Almost $38B in Fresh Ramstein Aid, Focused on Air Defense and Drones

Ukraine’s partners pledged nearly $38 billion in new military assistance at the 33rd meeting of the Ukraine Defense Contact Group in the Ramstein format in Brussels, according to Ukrainian officials on February 12.
Ukraine’s Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov announced in a briefing that announcements totaled “almost $38 billion,” adding that $35 billion of that amount had already been confirmed.

Serhii Sternenko, an out-of-staff adviser to Ukraine’s defense minister, quoted Mykhailo Fedorov as saying after the Ramstein-format meeting that “partners announced defense assistance to Ukraine of almost $38 billion,” adding that most of the funds would be directed to air-defense systems, drones, the development of drone-assault units, deep-strike capabilities, and interceptor drones.
Fedorov said the “quality and structure” of military aid was changing “before our eyes,” and described Ukraine’s goal as building a defense ministry capable of stopping Russian forces “on the ground, in the air and at sea,” while preventing Russia from financing the war.
Speaking at the Ramstein meeting, Fedorov urged partners to speed deliveries of Patriot PAC-3 interceptor missiles, saying Ukraine needed them to counter ballistic missiles and protect critical infrastructure.

In a separate address, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Fedorov’s task at the Ramstein meeting was to accelerate air-defense support, calling it “a key task now not only for Ukraine, but for everyone in Europe,” as Russia continues missile and drone attacks.
Earlier, it was reported that during the 29th Ramstein‑format meeting, Germany and the United States agreed to provide Ukraine with five Patriot air defense systems to help strengthen its defensive capabilities.
