Ukraine Starts Co-Producing Interceptor Drones With US, Aiming for 1,000 Daily Output

Ukraine has begun producing interceptor drones in collaboration with the US, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced in an interview with Bloomberg Television, as reported by Bloomberg on November 13.
Zelenskyy stated Ukraine had already started this cooperation some time ago and stressed that the new systems are intended to counter Russian attack drones.
“American-Ukraine production, co-production. I hope that in the future we will have more,” Zelenskyy said, describing the program as part of broader efforts to expand Ukraine’s drone industry in partnership with allies.
The announcement follows a memorandum signed in July between Ukraine and US company Swift Beat LLC on joint production of various types of drones, which Zelenskyy called “a co-production document between Ukraine and the United States” involving several firms.

In early October, Ukraine’s Defense Ministry reported that a technical delegation had traveled to the US to prepare a longer-term “Drone Deal” that includes both the acquisition of Ukrainian-made drones under a five-year contract and the joint production of several Ukrainian models.
This month, Zelenskyy said Ukraine plans to ramp up production to 600–800 interceptor drones per day by the end of November, with a longer-term target of about 1,000 daily, describing the build-up of unmanned capabilities as difficult but vital for strengthening air defense against Russia’s ongoing attacks.
Earlier, it was reported that Ukraine’s defense industry and US counterparts held technical discussions in the US aimed at a five‑year deal to purchase Ukrainian unmanned aerial systems and set up joint production of Ukrainian drone models.
