US President Donald Trump has confirmed that Ukraine will receive new Patriot missile defense systems from the United States as part of the delivery of 17 Patriot Systems financed by European NATO members.

The announcement was made during a joint press conference with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte at the White House on July 14.

Trump also revealed that Ukraine will receive additional weapons from third countries "very soon—within days, actually."

“They are not gonna need them all. A big portion of the seventeen will go the war,” he said, without specifying how many systems will end up in Ukraine.

Previously, US President Donald Trump pledged to provide Ukraine with an immediate delivery of 10 Patriot air defense interceptors to bolster defenses against continued Russian missile strikes.

Although the shipment is smaller than the previously planned delivery, Trump reportedly assured Zelenskyy of his commitment to help Ukraine secure further interceptor supplies from alternative partners.

Additionally, Trump issued a 50-day deadline for Russia to agree to a peace deal on the war in Ukraine. He warned that if Moscow fails to reach an agreement within this period, the US will impose sweeping new tariffs on Russia.

The president expressed his frustration with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, saying he was “disappointed” by the lack of progress in negotiations. Trump noted that he had expected a deal two months ago but now sees little indication that an agreement is forthcoming.

Earlier, Senator Lindsey Graham predicted that US military aid to Ukraine is set to reach unprecedented levels, hinting at an imminent announcement from President Trump. He cautioned that countries backing Russia—notably China, India, and Brazil—may face heavy tariffs and sanctions.

Graham noted that Trump is assembling a “very aggressive” weapons package for Ukraine, which could be financed through existing funds and expedited via presidential drawdown authority.
