Ukraine announced it is set to receive €400 million this week from international partners to support its growing drone production industry.

The funding, part of an agreement between Ukraine and the Netherlands, will go directly to domestic manufacturers building combat and surveillance drones, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed in a video address on July 29.

“These days, agreements with our partners regarding funding for drones are being finalized—an additional €400 million will be transferred to the accounts of our Ukrainian drone manufacturers within this week. The agreement is between Ukraine and the Netherlands. We are fulfilling all production targets for drones this year, and doing so as required,” Zelenskyy said.

He also underscored the vital contribution of the domestic tech sector to Ukraine’s defense efforts. On the same day, the President visited a Ukrainian electronics company in the Kyiv region that produces key components for missiles and drones.

“Today I visited a very capable company in the Kyiv region that produces our Ukrainian electronics—components for missiles, for drones,” Zelenskyy said.

“I sincerely thanked the employees—the entire team of the company. When our strikes on Russian territory happen, we must remember: this is the result of work by many—many companies, many people, both in the public and private sectors. It is Ukrainian unity in action—what works best. Best for Ukraine. Best for our people. Thank you!”

Previously, the President set a goal for Ukrainian drone producers to operate at least 1,000 interceptor drones daily.

On July 28, Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov said that Russia is expected to transition its Shahed drone fleet to jet engines in the near future, increasing their speed and reducing Ukraine’s interception window.
