Ukraine Unleashes “Veres-2” Jammer to Stop Russian Drones From Dropping Bombs

Ukrainian defense company Ukrspetskonsalting has delivered its new compact electronic warfare (EW) system “Veres-2” to several brigades of the Defense Forces, where it is already in operational use.
According to Defense Express on August 25, the “Veres-2” station was designed to disrupt drones such as Mavic and Autel models, which Russian forces employ to drop explosive charges.
Ukrainian brigades operating on the Zaporizhzhia and Pokrovsk fronts have reported positive results after integrating the system into their defense operations.

The “Veres-2” functions by targeting UAV onboard receivers, simultaneously jamming operator control signals and satellite navigation systems including GPS, Galileo, Glonass, and BeiDou.
It generates active noise-like interference across multiple radio frequency ranges: 1160–1280 MHz, 1560–1630 MHz, 2400–2500 MHz, 5160–5280 MHz, and 5725–5850 MHz. Remote control capability allows operators to adjust frequency bands, signal polarization, and antenna directionality.

The system is designed for autonomous field use, operating for at least 60 minutes on battery power or continuously when connected to an external power source.
With a total weight of under 20 kilograms, it can be easily deployed in combat conditions. Field specialists noted that “Veres-2” maintained stable performance across declared ranges during testing and demonstrated resilience against dust, moisture, and low temperatures.

Feedback from Ukrainian brigades confirms both technical reliability and timely delivery of the systems under contract. The EW station has been codified and included in the procurement list of Ukraine’s General Staff.
Ukrspetskonsalting indicated that “Veres-2” can be supplied in multiple configurations, depending on operational requirements, and is part of a broader line of EW solutions currently undergoing final testing for future deployment.
Earlier, Ukraine deployed its first SHARK light aircraft equipped with an electronic warfare system designed to detect and jam Russian drones.
