On September 15 Ukraine firmly dismissed speculation about a potential freeze in the ongoing war, refuting claims made by the German tabloid Bild. Presidential adviser Dmytro Lytvyn took to Social Media to debunk the rumors.

Lytvyn stated, “Bild has spread false information. No one involved in the development of Ukraine’s Victory Plan has spoken with Bild. There will be no 'Minsk-3' or any other agreement granting concessions to Russia. Ukraine is opposed to any freeze of the war, and this stance is consistently communicated at all levels of government.”

The adviser emphasized the importance of US support for Ukraine’s Victory Plan rather than any agreements involving capitulation or a ceasefire. He noted that the plan will be presented primarily to Washington, which he believes is crucial for its effective implementation.

The Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also responded to the Bild report, denying the possibility of a war freeze and asserting that Ukraine’s strategy focuses solely on strengthening the nation.

A spokesperson for the Ministry stated, “Ukraine has no plans to agree to any 'freeze' of the war. The source of these claims is not familiar with President Zelenskyy’s plan. The elements of the plan that will be presented to the US will undoubtedly strengthen Ukraine and its forces, not weaken them.”

Bild had reported that President Zelenskyy might announce a readiness for a localized ceasefire on certain frontlines during his visit to the US, claiming that he plans to discuss this with President Joe Biden, as well as with Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump.

Previously, speaking at the 20th annual Yalta European Strategy (YES) meeting in Kyiv on September 13, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy outlined key aspects of his plan to end the war with Russia, emphasizing the crucial role of US support in strengthening Ukraine’s position.
