Ukraine’s agricultural exports in 2024 reached $24.5 billion, a figure comparable to the pre-war period and amounting to 59% of the country’s total exports, the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reported on January 3.

This marks the second-highest agricultural export record in the country’s history, following 2021, when exports totaled $27.7 billion.

Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Vitalii Koval said Ukraine exported 78.3 million tons of agricultural products last year.

The largest share of exports was sunflower oil, accounting for 21% of the total. Nearly 6 million tons were exported, generating $5.1 billion in revenue.

Corn also represented 21% of exports, with 29.6 million tons shipped, worth $5 billion. Wheat followed at 15%, with 20.6 million tons exported for $3.7 billion.

Other exports, reflecting the scale of Ukraine's food exports, included:

  • Rapeseed: 7% of total exports (3.8 million tons, $1.8 billion)

  • Soybeans: 5% (3.4 million tons, $1.3 billion)

  • Meal and residues from vegetable oil production: 4% (4.7 million tons, $1 billion)

  • Poultry meat and edible products: 4% (447,000 tons, $958 million)

  • Barley: 3% (3.3 million tons, $557 million)

  • Sugar: 2% (746,000 tons, $418 million)

Earlier, reports emerged that Russia was reportedly supplying grain, stolen from Ukraine, to the Houthi rebels controlling most of Yemen.
