According to Ukraine’s Ministry of Defense on April 1, the improvement reflects ongoing upgrades to air defense systems and the integration of new technologies alongside existing capabilities.
The Ministry reported that Russia launched at least 6,600 aerial threats over the course of the month, including missiles and various types of attack drones. Ukrainian forces successfully neutralized 5,935 of those targets.

Separate data released by the Ministry indicates that 641 Russian aerial weapons failed to reach their intended targets, contributing to what officials described as a continued strengthening of Ukraine’s air defense performance.
“Behind these figures is the introduction of new and the development of proven effective means of protecting the sky. We are approaching the goal set in Ukraine’s war plan,” the Ministry of Defense stated.
The data also shows a steady upward trend. According to the Ministry, air defense effectiveness has increased by 9.7% over the past four months. The interception rate rose from 80.2% in December to 82.5% in January, 85.6% in February, and nearly 90% in March.

Ukraine’s military leadership has set a target of intercepting at least 95% of incoming aerial threats, including missiles and drones.
Earlier, according to Commander-in-Chief Oleksandr Syrskyi on March 30, Ukrainian forces destroyed more than 2,300 Russian aerial targets in a single month—a 55% increase compared to February—highlighting the rapid scaling of interceptor drones and their growing role in Ukraine’s air defense system.
