The strategic-level electronic warfare system known as Lima has neutralized 26 Russian Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles during the first three months of 2026.

Developed by Cascade Systems, the technology was originally designed in 2022 to counter Shahed-136 drones and guided aerial bombs. Its recent deployment across several regions of Ukraine has demonstrated its ability to effectively repel high-speed aeroballistic threats, according to Interfax on April 20.

Since the system was first put into operation, the total number of Kinzhal missiles it has neutralized has reached 58. Reports from the first quarter of 2026 also indicate that Lima has repelled 33 cruise missiles and more than 10,000 drones.

Within its operational zones, the system successfully neutralizes over 98% of the delivery vehicles launched by Russian forces.

These complexes are now part of Ukraine’s unified air defense system. This integration allows for the redirection of Russian aerial weapons away from their intended targets and into the safest possible areas.

Maksym Skoretskyi, the head of the Electronic Warfare Department of the Ukrainian Ground Forces, noted that the integration of Lima into the air defense system creates an additional line of protection.

“This allows the system to neutralize drones and missiles that have already broken through the outer interception ring. In this way, a multi-level, layered defense is created. Such interaction significantly increases the percentage of enemy strike weapons that do not reach the target during attacks,” he said.

The Lima system utilizes a combination of jamming, spoofing, and cyber influence to disrupt the navigation of incoming weapons. By forcibly interfering with the guidance systems, it neutralizes the ability of high-precision missiles to hit their intended targets.

Earlier, Ukraine’s Night Watch unit reportedly used its Lima electronic warfare system to disrupt Kinzhal hypersonic missiles by jamming their satellite navigation, forcing them to rely on less accurate guidance. Some missiles missed their targets, while operators symbolically played “Our Father Is Bandera” through the static.
